Jammu, 9th February: Jammu Joint Student Federation on Friday held their emergent meeting at GGM Science College Jammu. The meeting was chaired by Keshav Malhotra District Jammu President JJSF whereas JJSF units of GGM Science College Jammu and SPMR College participated in this meeting to discuss the consequences of repealing the rules mandating recruiting agencies to draw a waiting list for filling dropout vacancies for each job test.

The members present in the meeting discussed in detail about the matter and expressed their concern about the aspirants of various recruitment exams. They further unanimously decided to launch a province Level agitation to revive waiting list provision in recruitment.

While addressing the gathering, district President JJSF Keshav Malhotra raised questions over decisions of the Government of union territory of Jammu and Kashmir to abrogate waiting list provision of recruitment rules. He said that due to incompetent officials of prominent recruitment boards and a derailed recruitment process since 2021, youth of Union Territory was suffering. Various recruitments have been piled up and many meritorious candidates are getting selected for multiple posts as most of the recruitments are concluding at the same time. The direct impact of this decision of removing the waiting list has caused damage to the future of many aspirants. By this order the government has also violated the fundamental right of equality in public employment as waiting list provision is available in all other states and even in various recruitment bodies of the Government of India. He added that this unconditional decision should be recalled and waiting list provision should be reinstated as soon as possible so that aspirants of JKPSI, VLW, Finance Account Assistant, Junior engineer and others could have their right.

Raghav Singh JJSF President SPMR College of Commerce said that Jammu Joint Student’s Federation always stood first to fight for rights of students and youth. He said we all have pledged together that we will leave no stone unturned to revive the waiting list provision in various recruitments of Jammu Kashmir.

Others present during the meeting are Bharat Verma JJSF President GGM Science College, Ritik Verma Vice President JJSF, Vishal Dogra, Vansh Johal Working President JJSF, Samaksh Sharma General Secretary, Vansh Johal Gourav Sharma General Secretary, Vipan Malhotra District Secretary, Vansh Sharma etc.
