JAMMU, January 27: Taranjit Singh Tony, General Secretary Jammu and Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee (JKPCC) and District Development Council (DDC) Member Suchetgarh, while labeling the incumbent BJP Govt at the Centre as a ‘Wolf in Lamb’s Wool’, has asserted that in order to end the multiple miseries including the unprecedented unemployment and inflation thrust upon the people of this nation by this wolf, it is necessary to finally end the BJP rule rather misrule that has taken a heavy toll during the past about ten years.
In a statement issued to media today, the senior Congress leader said that the sordid state of affairs into which the BJP Govt has landed the nation can be well judged from the fact that the country is faced with never ever seen unemployment and the highest ever debt crises. He said that to be more specific the figures authenticate the worst state of affairs. He claimed that, as per the media reports, during 2014-15 the nation was reeling under a debt of Rs. 64 lakh crores while the same figure reached the peak at Rs. 173 lakh crores in the year 2023-24. This clearly proves that Modi Govt has turned into the biggest debtor, he added. In view of the aforesaid fact, he questioned the BJP Govt on its claims of the much parroted economic transformation. He also asked the BJP Govt what happened to the lakhs of jobs promised to the youth by the BJP before going to elections in 2014 and 2019.
Tony said that though the people across the nation have suffered a lot during the saffron party rule but it is a fact that people of Jammu and Kashmir have been the worst sufferers. He said that the BJP Govt has done nothing for the people of J&K except betraying their trust and continuously befooling people on every issue. He criticized the Govt for again hiking the rates at Lakhanpur toll plaza and so far as property tax is concerned, it has put it on a hold with the intention of implementing the same soon after elections.
Reiterating that the people can get rid of the sordid state of affairs only by ousting the BJP Rule, Tony said that things will change only after elections. Asserting that it’s high time that BJP is shown the door and removed from this nation, he appealed to the people to exercise their right to franchise sensibly in the upcoming elections and vote overwhelmingly for Congress the oldest and time tested political party of India.
