GANDERBAL, JANUARY 13: Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Shyambir today chired a meeting of District Level Export Promotion Committee here in the V.C Room of DC Office.
The meeting was convened to discuss the Draft Export Plan for Ganderbal district prepared by Jammu and Kashmir trade promotion Organization J&K (JKTPO).
The consultant from JKTPO, presented a PPT and draft district Export action plan, detailing both hard and soft measures required to increase exports of identified products.
The DC held a detailed deliberation on the comprehensive Export Plan placed before the Committee under which 3 products have been identified/finalized having good export potential viz Willow Wicker, Kani Shawl and Trout fish in the District.
An extensive discussion was held on the action plan to make these products of international quality to increase the income of local potential exporters.
Speaking on the occasion the DC said that the purpose of meeting was to finalize the Draft Export Action Plan aimed to enhance the Export of Goods identified to boost the local Economy and institutionalize the Export Ecosystem in the district to enable holistic socio-economic growth of the local Artisans and Exporters of the District.
The DC exhorted on strategies to increase production, quality of products, more FPO formation, departmental schemes be implemented and market linkages, good packaging techniques etc to increase export from the district.
The meeting was attended by General Manager DIC Ganderbal, Assistant Director H&H besides other concerned.

Commissioner SMC/CEO, SSCL, reviews the preparations for Republic Day Celebrations in Srinagar
SRINAGAR, JANUARY 13: Commissioner SMC/CEO, SSCL, Dr. Owais Ahmed today chaired a comprehensive meeting at the SMC Central office to review the preparations for the upcoming Republic Day celebrations in Srinagar.
The meeting, was attended by senior officers from the corporation, focusing on ensuring a vibrant and well-prepared environment for the momentous occasion. The Commissioner issued immediate directives to the Corporation.
Electric Wing, SMC to repair dysfunctional street lights with a motive to illuminate Srinagar City; emphasizing swift action and personal oversight to ensure efficient rectification.
Commissioner emphasized illumination of flyovers with tricolor and warm lights; creating a visually striking display in honor of Republic Day.
He directed the Sanitation Wing SMC to prioritize sanitation and urged that every nook and corner of the city needs to be cleaned for the upcoming celebrations.
In anticipation of Snowfall, the Mechanical Engineer Wing were directed to prepare both manpower and machinery for prompt snow clearance, with particular focus on the venue and its surroundings.
Furthermore, Commissioner SMC directed the S.E Drainage to maintain the functionality of all dewatering pumps in the city and to deploy mobile pumps around the venue to address any unforeseen circumstances.
