Drugmulla Army Camp recovers the Fire Truck stuck near Middle School, Chailpatti

 

Truck fire fighting was left stranded because of heavy snowfall and inclement weather.

 

Army camp extended help in rescuing the important asset.

 

The rescue included establishing a manual Pivot to pull the vehicle out from snow as the track was not found suitable for mov of recovery vehicle. The effort started at 1000h and the Fire Truck could be pulled out by 1300h after brave efforts in the inclement weather conditions.

 

The truck fire fighting however, lacked the capability of mobility on snow. Hence, the Army team provided it with its Own vehicle’s non Skid Chain for the same. The same was mounted expertly by the Army team on to wheels. Moreover, the Army team cleared the route ahead and made temporary track using stones, woods to enable to truck to take a turn in the existing slushy terrain.

 

This enabled the TFF to negotiate the snow and move on to the main road by 1500h.

 

The prompt response and coordinated action by the Army not only facilitated the safe retrieval of the fire truck but also exemplified the military’s commitment to supporting civilian agencies in Jammu & Kashmir.

 

The successful recovery operation highlights the versatility and readiness of the armed forces to assist in diverse situations beyond their traditional roles. By leveraging their expertise, equipment, and manpower, the Army played a pivotal role in mitigating the impact of the incident and restoring critical services to the community.
