R-Day, 2024 celebrations held across all the District Courts of Kashmir

SRINAGAR, JANUARY 26: The celebrations for 75th Republic Day were today held across all the District Court Complexes (DCCs) of Kashmir Valley, during which the respective Principal District and Session Judges (PD&SJs) unfurled the national flag and took salute at the march-past.

In Srinagar, in a jubilant and patriotic display of unity, the District Court Complex, Moominabad, Srinagar, witnessed an unforgettable celebration of the 75th Republic Day.

The event was marked by the unfurling of the National Flag and the solemn salute of the guards by the Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman, DLSA) Srinagar, Jawad Ahmad.

The event echoed with the resonating spirit of freedom, as Judicial Officers of District Srinagar, Officers of the Prosecution Department, Members of the Bar, Assistant Commandant CRPF BN 144, Officers and officials of the Roads & Buildings (R&B) Department, Treasury, J&K Bank branch Moominabad, Officers and Ministerial Court staff, Staff members of DLSA Srinagar, members of the Legal Aid and Defense Counsel (LADC), Penal Lawyers, and para-legal volunteers came together in a powerful display of national pride.

Principal District & Sessions Judge, who also serves as the Chairman of DLSA, Srinagar spoke passionately about the significance of the day and the role of the legal fraternity in upholding the democratic values that the nation stands for.

The event served as a reminder that the legal fraternity, with its diverse members, plays a crucial role in shaping the destiny of the nation.

Principal District & Sessions Judge Srinagar as a goodwill gesture, distributed sweets among the guards of J&K Police and CRPF (BN), acknowledging their dedication in safeguarding our nation’s values and freedoms.

In Budgam, in an enthusiastic and patriotic atmosphere, the 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at the District Court Complex, Budgam.

The celebration commenced with the unfurling of the National Flag by the Principal District & Sessions Judge (Chairman DLSA, Budgam), Khalil Ahmad Choudhary, who also took the salute of the guards, echoing the pride and honor that comes with this momentous occasion.

The event was graced by the presence of Aijaz Ahmad Khan, Additional District & Sessions Judge, Budgam; Noor Mohammad Mir, Chief Judicial Magistrate, Budgam and Sheikh Gowher, Special Mobile Magistrate Budgam.

The participation of Officers of the Prosecution Department, members of the Bar Association Budgam, Officers and ministerial Court staff, Staff members of DLSA, Budgam, members of the Legal Aid and Defense Counsel (LADC), Penal Lawyers, and para-legal volunteers (PLVs) added a diverse and dynamic dimension to the event.

The Principal District & Sessions Judge in his address emphasized the importance and significance of Republic Day in the legal context. His words resonated with the audience, echoing the principles of justice, equality, and the rule of law that form the bedrock of our democratic nation. He underscored the role of the judiciary in upholding the constitutional values and ensuring access to justice for all citizens.

A touching moment during the celebrations was when Choudhary, in a gesture of camaraderie and appreciation, distributed sweets among the guards. This simple act symbolized the sweetness of freedom and the bond between the protectors of our land and its citizens.

A similar kind of unfurling National Flag ceremony also took place at the Tehsil levels of District Budgam wherein Chairpersons of TLSCs hoist the National Flags and also took the salute of the guards.

In Ganderbal, the District Judiciary in collaboration with District Legal Services Authority, Ganderbal celebrated 75th Republic Day today with patriotic fervor and high enthusiasm at the District Court premises Ganderbal.

On the occasion, Ritesh Kumar Dubey, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal unfurled the National Flag within the premises of the District Court Ganderbal.

The event was also attended by Nusrat Ali Hakak, Secretary DLSA Ganderbal; Mainaaz Qadir, Additional Special Mobile Magistrate, Ganderbal, Chief Prosecuting officer, Ganderbal, Public Prosecutors, Bar members. Besides officers, Staff of District Court Ganderbal, DLSA & TLSC Ganderbal, Prosecution, e-court, and PLVs were also present.

The Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Ganderbal greeted the participants on the 75th Republic Day and distributed sweets among the Police personnel who participated in the parade and the staff members present on the occasion.

In Kulgam, Muhammad Ashraf Bhat, Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge (Chairman District Legal Services Authority) Kulgam unfurled National flag at District Court Complex Kulgam.

The function was attended by Abdul Qayoom (Chief Judicial Magistrate Kulgam); Tabasum Qadir Parray (Secretary DLSA Kulgam); Muneer Ahmad Bhat (Additional Special Mobile Magistrate Kulgam); Mudasir Ahmad (Munsiff DH Pora); Anjeet Singh (Munsiff Qazigund); President Bar Association Kulgam, Arshid Baba and other advocates and office bearers of District Bar Association Kulgam, Prosecuting officers of district Kulgam, Court Officials, officials from J&K Police & CRPF, Staff members and PLVs of DLSA Kulgam.

In his remarks Pr. Distt. & Sessions Judge (Chairman DLSA) Kulgam emphasized that the best way to celebrate Republic Day is by taking the oath that we will always follow our Constitution and make India proud.

Later sweets were distributed among the police and CRPF officials by Pr. District & Sessions Judge Kulgam.

To boost the morale of the employees and to encourage them, Certificates of Appreciation were distributed among 13 employees posted in different courts of District Judiciary Kulgam for their outstanding contribution, enthusiasm and dedication shown by them while performing their duties.

Also, at Taluka courts at D.H Pora and Qazigund similar functions were organised by the respective judicial officers.

In Kupwara, the 75th Republic Day celebration function was held today at District Court Complex Kupwara during which Principal District & Session Judge Kupwara, Shazia Tabasum unfurled the National Flag and took salute.

On the occasion, Munsif Kupwara, Altaf Ahmad Mir, Munsiff Kralpora, Shabir Ahmad Malik, Munsiff Tangdar, Faizan E Nazar, CPO Kupwara, Syed Jahangir, APP-Sub Judge Court Kupwara, APP-Munsif Court Kupwara, Deputy Chief Legal Aid Defense Counsel DLSA Kupwara, Adv. Mozamil Yousuf Bhat, Bar president Kupwara along with Bar Secretary Kupwara and court staff were present.

In Shopian, in an enthusiastic and patriotic atmosphere, the 75th Republic Day was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm at the District Court Complex, Shopian.

On the occasion, Principal District and Session Judge, Shopian, unfurled the National Flag, took salute at the March Past.

At Pulwama, to commemorate the eve of the 75th Year of Republic Day, a grand celebration was today held at the District Court premises Pulwama.

On the occasion, Nasser Ahmad Dar, Chairman DLSA (Pr. District & Sessions Judge) Pulwama, unfurled the National Flag in the premises of the District Court Pulwama and National anthem was also recited  in  District Court Complex Pulwama.

He also took salute at the March-Past in presence of all the Judicial Officers. Besides public prosecutors, DLSA¬ Staff, Prosecution staff, E-court Staff, Members Bar and PLVs were also present.

At Baramulla, the Sub Judge Uri, Fozia Paul, in a stirring ceremony at the Uri Court Complex, marked the 75th Republic Day with a symbolic unfurling of the tricolor.

The event exuded a sense of pride and unity, as Sub Judge Paul took the salute, reinforcing the ideals enshrined in the Constitution.

Amidst the resonating echoes of the national anthem, Sub Judge Uri extended her warmest Republic Day greetings to the people of Uri. Her heartfelt words emphasized the importance of community and shared national values.
