Reasi : To eradicate the menace of Drugs from the society and take stringent action against Drug Peddlers within the district, Reasi Police recovered 2.24 Kilo grams of Cannabis (Charas) like narcotics, Narco- Smuggler arrested as well as narcotic substance got seized on the spot.
Team of Police Station Pouni was on traffic duty in Domail area of Pouni, they stopped an Alto car bearing Registration No. JK17-2289 which was coming from Reasi towards Bhambla. During checking of the car, 2.24 Kilo gram including maize husk of Cannabis (Charas) like Substance wrapped inside maize husk was recovered from the window panels of the car. On questioning the driver namely Javed Ahmed S/O Ghulam Rasool Mir R/O Melhoora, Tehsil Zainapora District Shopian, was unable to give satisfactory reply. Thereafter all the recovered narcotic substance was seized.
On this a case FIR No.03/2024 U/S 8/20 NDPS Act stand registered at P/S Pouni. Accused arrested and further investigation is going on. The whole operation is led by SHO Pouni under the supervision of Dy.SP Hqrs. Reasi.
SSP Reasi Amit Gupta -JKPS while sharing the details said that Reasi police is committed to eradicate the menace of drug abuse and appeal to public to support in its war against drugs for which any information pertaining to drug peddlers be shared with District Police on 24×7 helpline number 9070907017 where identity of caller is kept secret.
