Jammu, Jan 9: In a significant move towards educational empowerment, Sarpanch Khandwal Sonam Deep Singh Aulakh alongwith BDO Phallian Mandal Kirandeep Kour inaugurated a public library room at the community hall in Khandwal, Phallian Mandal today.
The library, established with financial help from the Department of Rural Development, aims to facilitate the youth in pursuing their studies and preparing for competitive exams.
Panch Bodh Raj and Panchayat secretary Ramneek Singh also graced the occasion with their presence. Several prominent people from the area also were present on the occasion.
Speaking on the occasion, Sonam Deep Singh Aulakh expressed his vision for the library, emphasizing its pivotal role in providing students with a dedicated space for learning and studying.
“This initiative aligns with my vision to create an environment where students can thrive in their educational pursuits. The library will serve as a resource hub for the youth, allowing them to continue their studies and prepare for competitive exams,” stated Sonam Deep Singh Aulakh during the inauguration.
In his farewell speech to the people Aulakh said, “In my five years as Sarpanch, my focus has always been on improving the education and health sectors in our Panchayat. I am proud to say that we have successfully achieved our targets, significantly enhancing the lives of our community members”.
He said that serving as Sarpanch has been a fulfilling journey, and I’m delighted to witness positive transformations in education and health under my leadership. Our collective efforts have indeed made a difference in the lives of the people in Panchayat.
Aulakh further pledged to undertake more such initiatives, showcasing a commitment to fostering educational opportunities within the Panchayat. The newly inaugurated library stands as a testament to the community’s dedication to empowering its youth through knowledge and education.
Speaking on the occasion, BDO Kirandeep Kour appreciated the dedication of Sarpanch Aulakh to improving basic facilities in the Panchayat and said that he has set a commendable precedent.
“Inspired by Sonam ji’s exceptional work as Sarpanch, I look forward to seeing more public libraries inaugurated in our block. His commitment to community development is truly commendable.” said, BDO. She said that efforts in enhancing education and health services have been truly inspiring.
