Narotam Sharma former Councillor Ward No 3, Jammu Municipal Corporation along with other Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) leaders inaugurated an awareness and registration camp of “PM Vishwakarma Yojana” .
While addressing the gathering, on this occasion, Narotam said that ‘PM Vishwakarma Yojana’ is beneficial for all sections of the as it is aimed to provide support to artisans who keep alive the traditional crafts of India. He urged the people to take maximum benefit of this scheme and also aware other people of this scheme. PM Vishwakarama is a central scheme launched by the ministry of micro, small and mediums enterprises which provides collateral free credit, skill training, modern tools, incentive for digital transactions and market linkage support.
During the awareness program it was informed that the the category of trades that are included in this scheme are Carpenter (Suthar), Boat Maker, Armourer, Blacksmith (Lohar), Hammer and Tool Kit Maker, Locksmith, Goldsmith (Sunar), Potter (Kumhaar), Sculptor (Moortikar)/ stone carver / Stone breaker, Cobbler (Charmkar)/ Shoesmith/ Footwear artisan, Mason (Raajmistri), Basket Maker/ Basket Waver: Mat maker/ Coir Weaver/ Broom, Washer man, Tailor and fishing net maker .
The eligible tradesmen are also provided training under the scheme besides Rs 500/day stipend, after the successful training even they are provided toolkits.
The prominent people who attended this program include Yudveer Sethi state vice President BJP, Vidya Devi, Sarooj Gupta, Amit Khanna, Sanjay Mengi Sanjay Abrol (Booth president), Rajesh Khajuria, Akhil Gupta, Bindu, Santosh, Puja and others were present to grace the occasion.
