Udhampur : A Police team from Police Station Udhampur led by SHO Insp. Raghubir Choudhary, during routine checking at Jakhani, NHW recovered 10 Kg 460 grams of Poppy straw like substance from a vehicle (truck) bearing Registeration No PB06E 2639, one narco smuggler has been arrested today.
The arrested person (driver) has been identified as Omkar Singh S/O Kapoor Singh R/O R.S Pura, Jammu
In this connection, A case FIR No. 28/2024 under sections 8/15 NDPS Act stands registered in Police Station Udhampur and further investigation is going on.
In another case, Police team of PS Udhampur while performing patrolling on dhar road near kallar, Udhampur yesterday noticed the movement of one suspicious person namely Sourav Bandral S/O Sh. Sansar Chand R/O Chenani Udhampur who was directed to stop for checking. On frisking, 3.80 grams of heroin (chitta) like Contraband substance was recovered from his possession and accused was arrested on spot.
On this, a case vide FIR No. 24/2024 U/S 8/21/22/ NDPS Act stands registered in P/S Udhampur and further investigation was set into probe
